Can you believe it's been a year already!!! Do you remember the first few weeks? I bet you thought you'd never sleep again! I know I did. It's amazing to me how much they change in a year. Our bodies are truly remarkable. I look back to when Andrew and Sarah were babies and think, how did I survive with 2-3 hours of sleep at a time. And our learning curve in the first year is huge...Just when you think you have everything figured out, they go and start eating solids or start crawling, walking and talking!

Happy Birthday little Eva!

[...] I Was There! Obama’s Acceptance Speech at Moms Byte. Excerpt: “The vibe of the entire stadium was of pure excitement. I noticed that people were chatting with their neighbors as if they were long, lost friends. It was amazing to see the entire crowd rooting for the same team. Normally, at a football game, most of the fans are for one team or the other. And when your team is losing, the crowd gets crazy… yelling, drunkenness, rudeness, etc. Not here. Not now! There was a buzz in the air.” [...]

What an amazing experience. You're right it will be with you forever. As I'm writing this there's a Palin banner at the bottom of my screen. What's up with that?

Anyway, I'm glad you shared your experience with us. I have to say, that night I checked Twitter and Rudy's site quite frequently for updates. It was fun and exciting for me to read about your experiences that night as they were happening.

Great post. I am very different from my brother in many ways. To me, it says that while genes and heredity are an important part of what makes us individuals, it's our experiences that truly define us. It's an interesting thought experiment to consider what a person like Hitler would have been like had he been born in Chile or New York. Or, how many people with enormous potential never achieved anything because they were born in the middle of nowhere.
